#14: NASA Industry Days

NEWS UPDATE: The SMART Tire Company Lands Big Customers for the World’s First “Space Tire” [read more]

Project Artemis is heating up, and last week the SMART Tire team was on-site at Johnson Space Center in Houston for Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Industry Day.

As the only tire company specializing in tires specifically designed for outer space, the STC team was in high demand! In anticipation of the upcoming NASA RFP, we met with multiple aerospace industry partners who are preparing bids with SMART tires as a critical component. Big fish in attendance included Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Dynetics (Leidos), Northrop Grumman, and more.

Some of our lucky team members even were able to drive NASA’s SEV (Space Exploration Vehicle) in between meetings, tours and briefings on mission requirements.

What's Next

This June, we unveiled our exclusive "space tire" at Viva Technology in Paris, France, and signed two deals with major aerospace companies to bid on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle as part of Project Artemis.

NASA Industry Days indicate that we are close to receiving the final RFP for this project, at which point things are really going to heat up. We will be actively building prototype vehicles as part of the bidding process with our partners, announcing publicly who those partners are, and preparing for a very busy and profitable 2023-2025 (and beyond) delivering flight-ready SMART tires to the moon!
